The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It is a 700 acre urban wildlife refuge. The Sanctuary is open to the public year round and is a great place to take your kids. Not only is it free, it is a ton of fun too! It was started in 1935 as a waterfowl rehabilitation site. It continues to receive over 3,000 injured, orphaned, and sick animals each year. Their goal is to return as many animals back into the wild as possible.
There is a three story building there called Nature Education Center. There are hands on animal pods, discovery rooms, and even an estuary room. As you can see from a few of the pictures below, my kids truly enjoyed it!

The adults even got involved:

The Observation/Rehabilitation building has a conservation wing, live prey and waterfowl exhibits, animal nursery viewing, wildlife rehabilitation area, and shelled corn for sale to feed the waterfowl. My kids love feeding the waterfowl. At 50 cents a bag, you can’t go wrong!

If you are in the Green Bay Wisconsin area, this is a great place to take your children. Besides the cost of the corn to feed the waterfowl, it is free. There are 6.5 miles of trails you can hike besides the two buildings to check out. You can picnic there too. It is a great place to check out!

When traveling abroad, make sure you know the customs in the area you are in. Here are a few tips for you:
- Argentine humor can be insulting. They poke fun at your appearance, weight, and/or attire.
- Don’t kiss the hand of an Austrian woman unless you are Austrian.
- Don’t make the “OK” sign in Brazil since it is considered a rude gesture.
- Don’t give a Chinese person a clock as gift, because it is viewed as a sinister action. Clocks are associated with death.
- Don’t be too touchy-feely in Denmark.
- On the other hand, Italians like to hug.
- Don’t use your left hand to eat in Egypt.
- In Ghana, dont blow your nose at the dinner table.
- When in India, make sure you leave a small amount of food on your plate. If you clean it off, they think you are still hungry.
- However, if you are in Kenya, you do need to finish everything off your plate, because it is polite.
- Don’t talk with your hands or put your hands in your pockets while talking in Thailand.
Happy traveling!

I never knew there were so many Things to do in New Jersey. If we didn’t already go to Arizona this year, we sure would have a lot of fun at the Wildwood events and the new jersey water parks.
There are going to be Magic Mondays (July 7th, 14th, and 21st). On the Morey’s Piers, Radio Disney’s musical artists will appear. These free concerts (yes, I said free!) will take place next to the Giant Ferris wheel at 1 pm and 4 pm. The Series Finale will be July 26th (which is a Saturday) at the Wildwoods Convention Center Oceanfront Area. Plan on seeing stars such as Raven-Symone and Mitchell Musso there. If you do get tickets for the concert, make sure you get the savings that are also offered with it. On July 26th and 27th, show your summer concert series finale ticket at guest services, and you will get $10 off an all day waterpark ticket for Raging Waters or Ocean Oasis, or $10 off an amusement pier wristband, or $15 off a one day splash and ride combination ticket. How can you go wrong?
If you are in New Jersey in July, make sure you check all the cool happenings that are going on!

My best spring vacation ever has to be our trip last year to New York. (I would have said our recent Arizona trip, but that was done before the first day of spring. Miami was pretty fun too, but that trip was in January. I also didn’t have anytime to do anything like see the Miami Seaquarium). For those of you who don’t know, I won an all expenses paid trip to the Rachel Ray show last March. They called me on a Thursday and we flew out Monday, I think. It was also right after my birthday. We only had a limited time to do things while we were there, so I wish we would have known about Trusted Tours & Attractions. They could have directed us to what things to do in New York or even some sightseeing tours. We did end up doing pretty okay for ourselves though. We were able to visit Times Square and the World Trade Center Site. I wish we would have had time for the Statute of Liberty.
The really cool thing is that Trusted Tours & Attractions has an awesome contest going on. All you need to do is sign up for their newsletter and you could win a handheld GPS unit! This contest ends on Monday, April 30th, 2008, so what are you waiting for?

I think the craziest thing I did in Las Vegas was attend BlogWorld and PostieCon by myself. Crazy, because I am a stay at home mom who hates flying and hasn’t done anything alone in years. However, it was awesome. I got to meet a ton of my online friends and got to network with a ton of people. I also learned a lot. I even got to shake Mark Cuban’s hand. I know it doesn’t sound all that crazy, but for me, it is. That being said, I now find a list from Trusted Tours & Attractions of things to do in Las Vegas. They are not all wild and crazy, but they are definitely fun. Heck, if you are willing to travel, you can even set up an Alcatraz tour .
I wouldn’t say Vegas is too family friendly, so if you are looking for some family vacation ideas, you should definitely sign up for the Trusted Travels eNewsletter newsletter. If you do, they have a contest that you can win an IPOD Nano! I know we are trying to figure out where to take the kids next year. I don’t want too expensive, but I definitely want it to be fun!

Another great place to visit if you are even in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is the Wildlife Sanctuary. You are able to watch the trails there through the woods. They also have a small zoo and a spot that you can feed the ducks. You can buy corn for 50 cents a bag.

They also have a small building that houses some of the animals that can’t stay outdoors. They let you actually touch some of the animals too. Last time we were there, Madison got to touch a snake and a turtle.
This is a cheap and fun way to spend the day with your kids!

If you are ever in Green Bay, Wisconsin, this is a place you should definitely stop at. Where else can you go, take your kids, not spend over $20, and spend the whole day there?
Bay Beach has been around since 1892 in varies incarnations. The rides that have been offered have changed over the years, but the affordability has not. Tickets are still 10 cents. Some rides require 1 ticket, some 2. I think the train ride and the pony rides are extra. As a child, I loved this place. As an adult, I love bringing my kids here.
They have rides for both adults

And kids:

Not only do they have amusement park rides, train rides, and pony rides, they also have a pavilion that can be rented. There is also a park and picnic area too.
Snacks such as ice cream, soda, cotton candy, slushes, sno-cones, and nachos range in price from $1.00 - $2.00. The Pavilion “fast food” items range in price from $1.25 - $5.00 which includes hotdogs, hamburgers, brats, chicken sandwiches, pizzas, french fries, etc. Daily Specials include a sandwich, snack item, and a soda for $4.00. Taxes are included in all prices.
This is a one stop shop for affordable fun!
